Explore tourism properties participating in the Eco Travel Foundation’s climate performance programme. Each property is working to measure, understand and manage its operational carbon emissions. Completed assessments provide insights into data confidence, benchmarking and performance trends, while properties currently undergoing assessment are clearly identified. Our approach recognises transparency, credible measurement and continuous improvement.

Technical assessments are delivered by ETC Africa through the Eco Travel Foundation programme. Listing here does not constitute independent certification.

How to read the results Standards & Accountability

Understanding Climate Performance

Data quality: How well the assessed footprint is supported by records and documented estimates. Shown as High, Moderate or Limited. This describes the evidence, not whether the footprint is high or low.
Benchmark: How the result compares with the relevant peer group. Above or below the peer median provides context; it is not an overall sustainability grade.
Trajectory: Improving means carbon emissions per occupied bed-night have decreased over comparable reporting periods. The first assessment establishes a baseline. Data-quality improvement is tracked separately and does not, by itself, produce an Improving trajectory.
Carbon intensity: Emissions within the stated assessment boundary divided by bed-nights for the same reporting period. Read the figure alongside the property’s operating context and scope coverage.

Different property types, activities, energy systems and assessment boundaries affect the result. Figures should not be treated as directly comparable across every property in this directory.
